Charity Named For November Paddle Race
Every year we donate all the proceeds - and a little more - from two of our 4 race series. This year we have picked the UCSF Andreadis Blood Cancer Research fund. So grab your dog and get down here and race!
Our paddle race series focuses on family fun mixed in with some competitive action. Our November 14th race will see all proceeds headed to UCSF in an effort to help turn the tide in the fight against blood cancers. You do not need to wait for the event to make good things happen. In addition to racing we'll have a live auction, raffle, and other fun activities to raise more cash. Racing centers on our 2 mile short course and 6 mile long course. With Stand Up Paddleboards, Prone Paddleboards, Outrigger Canoes, Kayaks, and Surfskis making up the bulk of the fleet. The 101 Surf Sports Paddleboard Race Series is a four race series that is perfect for first time racers and elite athletes alike.
We also run 2 adventure races each year. The 13 mile Terrapin Crossroads Long Strange Trip and the 8 Mile Marin Brewing Company Escape from San Quentin. These two races are are geared for experienced paddlers only.
Our January race will be the second of the two fundraisers. We'll focus in on the fight against skin cancer with O'Neill Wetsuits putting their money in to the ring. The O'Neill Foundation will get behind their DGB - Don't Get Burned campaign and will be matching what ever funds we we can raise for the Skin Cancer Foundation.
It's likely all of us have been, or someday will be, touched by Cancer within our friends and family. With our community pictching in we can try to do our part to litteraly turn the tide in the search for cures.
