Kayaking 101
Kayaking 101 is for anyone who is interested in getting into Kayaking. Using stable sit-on-top kayaks, this beginner kayak class is perfect for first time paddlers. Join us in San Rafael for a Kayaking class that will teach you the foundational skills needed for Kayaking on San Francisco Bay.
Cost: $60.00 per person. Class Duration: approx 90 minutes Group Size: Minimum - 3; Maximum - 10 (with 2 instructors)
Our friendly, experienced and professional ACA trained instructors will cover the various terms associated with kayaking as well as discuss the many different types of kayaks available to consumers. The kaying class is structured to help you learn the ins and outs of the different types of kayaks so you can buy the right boat the first time.
We'll cover some paddling concepts on dry land, then we'll take to the water, with plenty of time for you to enjoy yourself on the placid San Rafael Canal. We'll practice some basic strokes and discuss aspects of safety to enable you to paddle with confidence.
So treat yourself to some knowledge and enjoy the first steps you're taking into the fantastic sport of kayaking!

LOGISTICS - Paddles, Life Jackets, and boats will be provided. You do not need to be able to swim to enjoy this class. Sunscreen and Hats are recommended. Please avoid Cotton Attire as its not good on the water. Synthetic fibers like Polyester are ideal. Things like biking clothes, yoga pants, and/or rashguards make for the best on the water wear. Bring plenty of water to drink and a picnic lunch for after your lesson.
