Something happened in the time that young Peter Steinfath spent on his many lay days in Hermosa Beach, one might call it an epiphany others might just call it switching gears. The hot sun beating down on all of the beachgoers on the boardwalk and the cool breeze wafting up from the ocean across all of the sunbathers on the beach set the scene for the most human interaction and stimulation that Peter has experienced along his long journey.

Peter Steinfath Skateboards to mexicoAt some point, a skateboard was purchased by Peter and he was enjoying his time cruising down the beachside promenade and bombing some hills along the way. And personally, I think that feeling of freedom on the skateboard triggered the fancy of finishing up his salty adventure with some more personal human interactions along his path towards the border than repeating each day on the ocean with the random birds that might follow him or the other wildlife that might spy hop to look up at the solo paddler that was making his way through their neighborhood. I’m certain that it gets lonely on the open ocean for countless miles and thousands of paddle strokes.

In terms of this journey, Peter has nothing more to prove in terms of his prowess and competency on the water, he’s proven that he is capable of paddling an extremely long distance in sometimes conditions of great consequence. Why not mix things up and enjoy the rest of the trip rolling South on four wheels? If you have been following this story you know that there is no shortage of harrowing as well as hilarious moments, each of those is seared into Peter’s memory and he will have stories to remember and recount for the remainder of his life. Hopefully, he isn’t too shy to give us a few amazing tales once he completes his mission to the border of Mexico.

One might ask, what next? After someone does such an amazing thing as Peter has accomplished, where to after this? I’m certain that in his many long hours alone on the ocean that Peter has already begun thinking about his next adventure. Stay tuned my friends and stay salty because I think that we haven’t heard the last from Peter Steinfath and his wanderlust for adventure!
