Pilgrims Racing Turkeys At Race 2 Of The Winter Series
This year's Turkeys & Pilgrims race was a fantastic day of fair weather, deep blue skies, and incredible pumpkin pies! There were some dynamite costumes at the starting line, and we had four costume contest winners that got a fun gift certificate for some watersports goodies.
One of our favorite racing families was making some waves on the canal on the six-person SupSquatch, with their dog Rocco leading the pack on the front of the board and the Moseby kids paddling hard. Thanks to Sean and Amy for getting the clan out on the water!
Rocco wasn’t the only pooch out on San Francisco bay today, Jules Gismondi & Sam Johnson paddled with their sweet doggie Camila (pictured below) in an Ocean Kayak Malibu II XL. I swear, it’s the fastest that I’ve ever seen one of them hunks of plastic go!
The River Town Racers came out in force, all of them posting insanely fast times. Leading the charge on the short course in a double surfski, Petri and Zachary Alva smoked a savage time of 42:08…rumor has it that they are keen on posting a sub-40-minute run at our December 10th, Elves & Grinches race!
Let's take a moment to think and talk about food. We were blessed to have our illustrious chefs and dear friends Jen Contreras and Tom Sixsmith behind the burners and we thank them for their hard work feeding our racers and staff. Everyone’s plates were overflowing with delicious yum yums. From hearty turkey sandwiches to homemade chili, scrumptious salad and amazing pumpkin pie….our bellies are full.
