Big Weekend #2 for May 5th And 6th - SUP Race and Grand Opening Party

It's an action packed weekend at 101 Surf Sports this May 5th and 6th with our second Paddling Race and our official Grand Opening Party.

 First up on Saturday May 5th is our second Paddling Race of the year. Whille the primary fleet is made up of Stand Up Paddleboards you'll find Prone Boards, Outrigger Canoes, and even a Surfski or two on the line for some racing fun. The racing at 101 Surf Sports is set up for first time racers and elite racers alike.

Our 2.1 mile short course barely leaves the sheltered waters of San Rafael Creek and is perfect for first time racers. No board? No problem. We have a large selection of boards to choose from. Race entry is $20 and includes after racing adult refreshments with a Cinco De Mayo theme alongside some themed pizza from event sponsor Extreme Pizza San Rafael and some refreshments courtesy Hint Water. Elite racers will be heartily challenged by our 5.6 mile open bay around the islands course.

Registration starts at 7:30 and ends at 9:15 with the racing starting promptly at 9:30.

Then on Sunday May 6th it's time to celebrate with San Rafael Mayor Gary Phillips who will be on hand to cut the red ribbon and officially welcome 101 Surf Sports to San 10Rafael. The celebration starts at 3pm with the official Ribbon Cutting at 4pm. Light refreshments and snacks will be served up right alongside a 10.1% storewide sale. The sale is only good between 3 and 7pm.

While we have ample on site parking we are expecting some larger crowds this go around so please reference the amp below for nearby overflow parking.
