Paddle Racing Is Back on San Rafael Bay
We are excited to roll out the 2021/22 schedule for the 101 Surf Sports Paddle Racing Season and we are making this entire season a charitable affair.
Each race will see all of that races proceeds donated to an individual charity with new charities featured each month. As we start our season we are paring back our normal format. For our first few races we will be focused on racing. The normal apres racing party will not be part ot the action, at least for the first few races. In addition registration will be capped in order to keep the crowd sizes safe so sign up early or risk missing out due to a sell-out.
The 101 Surf Sports Race series is catered to the first time racers. With a focus on fun and self-competition the environment is low stress and community rich. Our 2 mile short course is nearly (need at least a little adrenaline) entirely protected. Elite athletes will enjoy the challenge and strategy of our "which way do you go around the Marin islands" 6 mile course. What's it like to race at a 101 Surf Sports race. The season kicked off on October 16th with our new Covid friendly event format test race test and all went smooth. You can read about how we raised over $2k for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Here. The next race is Saturday November 20th benefiting the Global Medical Relief Fund followed by our December 17th race showing our support for the US Coast Guard Fallen Heroes Fund. We will announce future charities as we set up registration for upcoming races. %100 of the proceeds of the event will pass through to the benefiting charities.
Racing is open to Outrigger Canoe, Prone, SUP, Kayak, and Surfski and basically any forward facing human powered craft. If you don't see a division call us and we will make one.
