Surfski Class with Jay Wild
Fast is fun and there is not much out there that is as fast and as fun as Surkski's. While at first we thought they were for advanced paddlers only we were wrong. This is a great boat for paddlers of almost all abilities and we are putting together a top notch clinic to get you on the water.
Surfskis are fun to paddle on calm water as well as the open ocean. They are very fast, very safe (sit-on-top and self-bailing), lightweight (about 30 lbs), and incredibly maneuverable with a foot-operated rudder. In this session, we provide stable models to teach essential skills such as body posture, use of the wing paddle, and remounting the surfski in open water.
We welcome Tahoe Waterman Jay Wild (pictured below) to the shop to lead this clinic. We even have boats available to rent or you can bring your own. We will also have some of the high performance Epic Surfski's available for you to test ride after the clinic.
This clinic is perfect for first time Surfski paddlers as well as intermediates looking to improve their paddling.
A wetsuit is not a bad call but not necessary. Do dress in quick dry clothing based on synthetic fibers. No cotton.

About your instructor - Jay Wild. Jay is a multi-talented paddler, who established his fate when joining Kawaiulu-O-Tahoe Outrigger Canoe Club in 2004. Within one year of “serious” paddling, he qualified to compete with the top men’s crew for IMUA Outrigger Canoe Club, coached KOTOCC winning crews, and is dominating Lake Tahoe SUP events. Never one to limit his opportunities, Jay is looking forward to experiencing every aspect the water has to offer and that's when Surfski hit him and hit him hard.
