Stinson Beach Surf Camp Opens Bookings For 2017 Kids Surf Camps

The 2017 Stinson Beach Surf Camp is now open for bookings. Surf Camp starts on June 5th with the last day of camp on September 1st.

Stinson Beach Surf Camp is perfect for kids and teenagers aged 6 to 17 years old. Camp is held inside Stinson Beach State Park. First time and experienced surfers will have a great time at surf camp. The staff is made up or local surfers and lifeguards who have years of in the water experience. All the staff is CPR and First Aid trained and there is always a Certified Lifeguard on duty during camp. Surf Camp is run by Tommy Glavey with over 10 years experience running kids surf camps at Stinson Beach.

Each morning at camp starts with a stretch and a warm-up. New surfers are taught the basics of surfing on land and then it’s out to the water for about two hours of surfing. Lunch is up next and then some beach games for about thirty minutes. After the games wrap up it's back to the water for some more surfing. Camp wraps up at 3pm and those riding the shuttle get back to Mill Valley about 3:30pm.

Shuttle service via the Marin Stage Coach service picks up in Mill Valley at 8:30am near Tamalpais High School with a lifeguard there to escort your child to camp. The shuttle returns at 3:30 pm near the same spot.The shuttle costs $1 per day so ensure your child has the extra dollar.

In addition to the trained professional surf instructors & lifeguards surf camp provides surf boards, wetsuits, rashguards and bottled water. Lunch is not provided so either send your child with lunch, or with money to purchase lunch at the Stinson Beach Snack Bar.

At camp they cover a variety of activities including surfing instruction, warm ups calisthenics, stretching and breathing techniques, open ocean waterman skills, surfing in groups, and beach games like soccer, football and more. Each Friday wraps up with optional fun surf contest.

There is no Surf Camp camp July 4th or 5th but other than that Surf Camp runs Monday through Friday. Surf Camp is $100 per day or $425 for the week and is limited to 25 kids per day so sign up now to secure your spot.
