Glorious Conditions And A Good Cause Paddle Race #2 Is A Wrap

Paddle Racing on San Francisco Bay

Paddle Racing on San Francisco Bay

We were blessed with incredible weather for race number 2 of the 101 Surf Sports Paddle Race Series that saw over $3500 raised to benefit the Coast Guard Foundation.(pictured the fleet readies for action under gorgeous blue skies)

We celebrated the memory of our good friend, Filip Andersson, with a fun day of paddling and sharing the stoke with new friends. The weather gods were in tune with the good karma on the day and brought us abundant sunshine, and a near wind free course. Filip would have been even more stoked to see the amazing diversity within the fleet with SUP, Prone, Kayak, OC, and Surfski’s all sharing the starting line.

We announced the creation of the Filip Andersson Memorial Paddle Race. This race will always see the total proceeds of the race going to the Coast Guard Foundation in the honor of or friend Filip. We tried out something new in celebrating Filip with our ‘Circle of Stoke”. We know we sent many good vibes outward and that for sure Filip would have been stoked. Special thanks to 101 North Brewing Company. The beer is the best we have tasted, and the people that make it are pretty great too. Thanks 101 North Brewing!

The Fruit Guys came through as they always do. Delivering fresh fruit right to our door. While all the fruit was great it was the tasty Persimmons that stole the show. We highly recommend you get some fruit delivered to your door. It’s a healthy habit that will leave you feeling good too.

The day wrapped up on a sweet note. Sweet like pie and Ice Cream. Coming off a Rockstar like showing on QVC it was Mamie’s Pies bringing smiles all around. With Three Twins providing the ice cream it was one tasty wrap up. With the holidays in front of us we know you’ll make the Mamie’s & Three Twins set up your go to holiday deserts.(pictured below our new aerial shot of the Long Course SUP 14 fleet on the move)

Kind Bar and Hint water makes for an awesome combo. How do we know? We were partaking in bottomless buckets of each all day. Thanks!

Remember folks to support the businesses that support our sport. Eating Pie and Ice Cream while drinking premium beer. We are not asking a lot here.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out as well we simply could not do it without you.
