The Premiere Ultra Paddle Marathon The Cal 100 Is Set To Roll
The premiere water ultra marathon, The California 100, is scheduled June 11, 2016 and brings all types of paddlers together for an epic 100 mile downstream paddle race on the Sacramento River from Redding to Chico.
The event supports Rivers for Change, whose whole reason for being is this: "We connect people to rivers." For 2016, we listened to folks who want to experience the awesomeness of the Cal 100 but don't want to paddle 100 miles, so we added 25 and 50 mile options, all starting under the beautiful Sundial Bridge in Redding.
If you start getting distance training in now, you will be set for the race! We have three Cal 100 Training Clinics scheduled in March, April, and May that address distance paddling preparedness, cultivating a powerful forward stroke, and paddling dynamic water (going downstream), which can trip up even the most seasoned ocean paddler!
Invited classes include Stand Up Paddleboards, Kayaks, Surfski's and more. Single - Double - Inflatable - Bring It!
