San Rafael Only A Little Cleaner By Way Of Kayak And Stand Up Paddleboard

Another super successful clean up day on the San Rafael Canal!  We take every chance we can to make our home a better place and today's Coastal Clean Up was our fifth clean up of the day of the year.

Fourteen paddlers took us up on our offer of free paddleboard and kayak rentals with only one catch - you had to pick up trash as you paddled. We are so appreciative to all who came down to help out. We can speak with confidence that your karma bank is topped off for the month. 

Extra special thanks to the California Coastal Conservancy. Our biggest atta boy however has to do to the City of San Rafael and the San Rafael Clean team. Ann Bauer is the driving force and she has a solid team behind her making it all happen. All in all 250lbs of trash was pulled out of the canal.

So what to do with all that trash? That's where the good folks at Marin Sanitary Service come in. They generously donated a free dumpster for us to use to dump the trash. Thanks Marin Sanitary - their third year in a row helping clean up San Rafael.
