2013/14 Whole Foods Paddle Racing Season Kicks Off

The fog is gone, the wind is down, and that means Paddle Race season is on Whole Foods Market Style! Here is the low down on the 2013/14 Season Program.

We are very excited to get racing again, and if you took part in any of our races last year you know the focus is on fun family style racing, that caters to first time and surfboard class racing. You can bet the elite paddlers will be here too testing their skills against some of the San Francisco Bay Area's best paddlers.

Whole Foods Market is back again as title sponsor, and we here at 101 Surf Sports strongly support one of their core values of celebrating diversity and inclusion. That means our races welcome not only Stand Up Paddleboards but also welcome Prone Paddleboards, Surfski, Kayaks, and Outrigger Canoes. We have Men's, Women's, Juniors, over 50 and under 50 divisions, and a choice of 2 mile short course or 6 mile long course so there is something for everyone. Even if racing isn't your thing the apres paddle parties have become somewhat legendary.

This years program see's the likes of Hint Water, Terrapin Crossoads, Marin Brewing Company,  Extreme Pizza San Rafael, Barabary Ghost Paddle Tours, Balance Bar, Starboard SUP, and the San Rafael Police Department joining the sponsor ranks as we look to up the ante in this years action. Remember to support the businesses that support our sport!

Racing costs just $20 in you register before race day. Entry fees go up $10 (to $30) for day of registration.

Here is the low down for this years schedule;

Race 1 - Oktoberfest - Saturday October 5th

Race 2 - November 16th (click here to sign up)

Race 3 - Terrapin Crossroads Long Strange Trip - 13 miler Ft Baker to San Rafael December 7th.

Race 4 - Sunday January 19th

Race 5 -CANCELLED!!!!!!!!! Saturday February 15th (go to Feb 17 Presidents day race)

Race 6 - Marin Brewing Company San Quentin Break Out (San Quentin to San Rafael) Saturday March 15th

Race 7 - Saturday April 26th (Final race of the series)

NOTE - SWAP MEET # 1 is set for Saturday April 12th 2014!!!!! Mark Your calendar. No charges to buyers or sellers.

Remember Life Jackets and Board Leashes are required at all races.
